Colin Farrell Says He’s Not Sure If He’s Returning for “Fantastic Beasts” Sequels
Colin Farrell, who is playing the Auror Graves in the eagerly anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, recently spoke to ComingSoon.net, saying that he has not yet seen any of the film and claiming that he doesn’t know whether his role will continue in the planned sequels.
When asked if he’s lined up for Part 2, Farrell oddly seemed not to know about the sequels, saying,
No, I don’t know what’s happening. As far as I knew it’s standalone. I don’t know what their intentions are.
The interviewer then informed him about the planned trilogy and asked again, to which he replied,
Geez, I can’t even think straight now. Not quite sure. I’ll text David Yates and find out.
Farrell also talked about working with director David Yates, saying,
David Yates is an extraordinary man and filmmaker who kinda feels like a protector of the kingdom. He’s so well-versed in the mythology of that world and has a deep affinity for the characters and the lore of it. He was great to be around.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be released November 18, 2016. Parts 2 and 3 of the trilogy are scheduled for November 16, 2018, and November 20, 2020, respectively. For all of MuggleNet’s Fantastic Beasts coverage, click here.
Do you think Farrell genuinely doesn’t know whether he’ll be sticking around for the sequels, or is he deliberately keeping quiet?
