Dan Fogler on Meeting Alison Sudol: “She’s an Angel”
Pottermore continues to ramp up promotions for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Last week, Goldstein sisters Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol described the first time they met each other, and now the Pottermore Correspondent has posted a chat with Dan Fogler, who plays No-Maj Jacob.
Fogler seems to have quite a soft spot for co-star Alison Sudol. He says,
Alison is an angel. She’s an angel.
The moment I saw her, I knew her energy was just perfect. When she gets in the make-up and she’s Queenie and she’s got the lights on her, she’s got skin that glows, you know? When I saw her for the first time, I was like, holy…. It’s Alison Monroe over here – Marilyn’s cousin.
And his comparisons to pop culture icons don’t stop there. He goes on,
She has that feminine, delicate quality about her that also lends itself to comedy in an Audrey [Hepburn] kind of way.
Fogler and Sudol may have more in common than you think. They are both musicians – Fogler plays in a rock-comedy band called 2nd Rate, while Sudol is the lead singer of her band, A Fine Frenzy. They get along very well:
Together we’ve got a bit of an Adelaide and Nathan Detroit [from ‘Guys and Dolls’] thing going. So I’m always referencing something, that’s where I come from. I do a lot of homages in my work so I’m always referencing something. That’s what it feels like with the two of us.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters November 18.
