HPA’s Road to Hogwarts 2: Escape from Privet Drive Begins
Attention, Harry Potter exercise enthusiasts! It’s time to hop off of your couch, lace up your running sneakers, and get ready to marathon your way to Platform 9 3/4!
Well, not literally, but still!
The Road to Hogwarts 2: Escape from Privet Drive event, sponsored by the Harry Potter Alliance (HPA), has officially begun! This virtual race is a self-paced, 50-mile marathon that you time according to your own personal needs. It spans the distance from the fictional town of Little Whinging in Surrey to King’s Cross station in London. You can do this marathon by foot, bike, skateboard, another set of wheels, flying a bewitched Ford Anglia, whatever suits your particular set of needs to get from virtual Privet Drive to virtual Platform 9 3/4.
Every registered individual will receive a medal of honor (whether you manage to finish it or not), and participants can add on a T-shirt from the HPA’s allotted selection. Keep all of your exercise buddies updated as to how far along you are on your journey by using the hashtag #RoadtoHogwarts2 on Twitter, Facebook, and anywhere else you and your friends are hanging out. The HPA will be featuring your stories on its own Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr all throughout the summer.
And just in case you were even thinking of slipping off those sneakers and taking a nap instead of getting your booty in gear, I hear that a certain awesome, magical individual will be sending updates of his own. Hint: He may or may not be Harry Potter.
So join us for the great escape! September 1 marks the end of the race, and we’ll be excited to receive all of your fantastic updates along the way.
