Daniel Radcliffe Hopes to Return to Musical Theater
Actor Daniel Radcliffe revealed in an interview with USA Today that he wants to go back into musical theater. Once he finds what he considers the perfect role, that is!
While raving about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in the interview, he gave credit to the work of the actors in the play. He explained that the hardest work an actor can take on is a role in a Broadway musical. If you think about it, live performance actors have to get every tiny detail right for the shows and endure countless weeks rehearsing. Even if something does happen to go wrong on stage, the actors need to learn to improvise quickly to carry on with the flow of the live performance. Talk about stressful jobs!
Daniel believes that, to really succeed as an actor in Broadway plays and musicals, one must truly love the work:
It’s just about finding the right one, because you have to love it when you do it for that long – and it’s really hard work.
Daniel has starred in the Broadway plays Equus (2008-2009), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (2011), The Cripple of Inishmaan (2014), and Privacy (2016). He hopes to continue his Broadway career by finding what he considers to be his perfect role.
