First Trailer for Tom Felton’s “A United Kingdom” Released!
It was almost one year ago when we first announced that Tom Felton had joined the cast of A United Kingdom. Since then, he has been a busy man, starring in films like Risen and Against the Sun and accepting roles like Julian Dorn in the CW’s The Flash. No matter the role, Felton always brings a dynamic character to each film he stars in.
That being said, earlier today, the first trailer for A United Kingdom was released, unveiling an emotional true story about forbidden love. For those of you who are unfamiliar, the film’s plot is as follows:
It’s the late 1940s, and Prince Seretse Khama, the heir to the throne of Botswana, has fallen in love and married a young, white English girl named Ruth Williams. Their interracial love affair is so scandalous, Seretse and his bride must spend six years in exile in London, banned from Khama’s own country because he married a white woman.
The film will star David Oyelowo as Seretse Khama and Rosamund Pike as Ruth Williams, which given from the trailer, is a match made in heaven. They have fantastic chemistry. Also in the film is Jack Davenport, Terry Pheto, Laura Carmichael, and of course, Tom Felton, who will star as Rufus Lancaster. Check out the trailer below! Keep your eyes peeled for Tom Felton!
If you were having trouble spotting him, the new trailer briefly shows Felton sporting a fedora; a thin, triangular mustache; and round, wiry glasses (sort of like Harry Potter!). Even so, he looks as handsome as ever.
Hopefully, we will get a better look at Tom Felton in this role in the coming months as the film’s release date comes closer. Until then, A United Kingdom will open on November 25 in the United Kingdom (what a coincidence!). At the moment, there is no US release date, but one is currently being discussed.
Let us know in the comments below what you think of this glimpse of Felton in the trailer! Any predictions about his character?
