A “Philosopher’s Stone” Concert Tour is Coming to the UK!
UK Potter fans have a spectacular treat in store for them next year. Due to “phenomenal demand,” several venues in the UK, including the Royal Albert Hall, will be hosting exclusive live orchestra screenings of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone in the US) in May 2017. This is your chance to revisit the magic from the very beginning. With Harry Potter and the Cursed Child making headlines and inducing some serious Potter nostalgia, this is the perfect time for a throwback to the original trio.
The movie will be displayed on a 40-foot screen, accompanied by John William’s iconic Oscar-nominated score, which will be played by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra on stage, bringing the film to life. Launched by Warner Bros. and CineConcerts, these performances will be a part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series will premiere at the Royal Albert Hall on May 12 and 13, followed by a tour across seven venues in the UK, namely, London, Manchester, Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Glasgow. Pre-sale commences on August 22 on Ticketmaster. Don’t forget to get yours before they run out!
According to CelebMix, CinceConcerts president Justin Freer describes the tour as “unforgettable.” He says,
The Harry Potter film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. […] It will be an unforgettable event.
Hopefully, this tour will be the first of many worldwide screenings! You can find more details on the Royal Albert Hall website. What do you think about the film-and-live-orchestra concept? Are you looking forward to the event? Let us know in the comments!
