Daniel Radcliffe to Introduce Screenings for American Airlines Presents Empire Live!
When British film magazine Empire holds its Empire Live event at the O2 Arena in London later this month, attendees are in for a special treat: Daniel Radcliffe! Daniel will be present on the opening night, September 23, to introduce a pair of screenings of two of his most recent films, Swiss Army Man and Imperium. As Empire writes, however, that isn’t all:
Radcliffe will be sticking around to kick off three days of Q&As, fan events, exclusive screenings and family movie programming with an on-stage interview of his own to talk both those films – and much more. Ben Wheatley will also be there to introduce footage of his new ’70s thriller, Free Fire, along with a screening of his soon-to-be-cult-classic High-Rise, while Belle‘s Amma Asante will share her experiences on filmmaking from a female perspective.
Of Swiss Army Man, Empire says,
[The film] stars Paul Dano as Hank, a man on the verge of suicide whose life is saved by the intervention of Manny (Radcliffe), a corpse who somehow manifests startling abilities that might just come in handy as Hank tries to make his way back home. With two stunning lead performances (including Radcliffe as you’ve never seen him before), a wonderful soundtrack and entrancing visuals, this is a must-see.
In Imperium, “a dark thriller,”
[Daniel Radcliffe] plays an enthusiastic FBI agent who is asked to infiltrate a white supremacist group in the hope of foiling a major upcoming attack. An often violent, no-holds-barred look at the extraordinary lengths undercover agents must go to while somehow trying to hold on to a semblance of themselves, Radcliffe is on excellent form.
From September 23 to September 25, American Airlines Presents Empire Live will showcase numerous recent releases, the full details of which can be found on the event’s official website.
Tickets for American Airlines Presents Empire Live will be available first to Empire subscribers on September 7 at 10 a.m. local time and will go on sale to the general public on September 9 at 10 a.m. Larger ticket packages are already available for purchase here.
