MoM Elections: Event Recap
Hello again!! Adalina Mancer here, and our election is coming to a close. I am here to recap what some of our candidates have said and their respective viewpoints. Let’s kick this recap off with one of our lovely ladies.
Bianca Blishwick’s platform is based on looking back at where we came from to figure out how to move forward. Muggle-borns will never be successfully integrated into wizarding society if we cannot address the wrongs done to them in the past, as well as the violence Muggles launched toward wizardkind. Blishwick wants a country where anyone can feel safe walking down the hallways of their school or workplace, a country where everyone is properly compensated for the work they do, a country where no one is persecuted for the status of their blood. Blishwick is unafraid of change and progress and will fight tooth and nail to right the wrongs of previous magical governments.
Reggie Stump’s platform consists of equal rights for all those with human intelligence (she advocates for a new census of beasts or beast-like beings), continued unification after the Second Wizarding War, and continued integration of Muggle-borns with other wizarding children. Stump is also for updating government laws and by-laws to help bring her vision of a more unified wizarding world into the 21st century. She is passionate about modernization and understanding the wizarding world’s place in a modern world, re-negotiating trade agreements with foreign merchants and suppliers in the wake of Brexit, and keeping our relations with foreign nations friendly. She is for fully honoring commitments made to our Aurors, no longer keeping the wizarding world within its medieval bubble, and full rights for all those of “being” status. Stump sure plans to make changes!
Our lone male, William Waverly, aims to bring Muggle culture into the wizarding world. He wants to introduce Muggle technology, with a magical twist. Waverly wants to rewrite the laws so that Muggle technology can be integrated into the wizarding community. The four types of technology he wants to introduce are cell phones, e-books, video games, and robots. He wants to remove Dementors from Azkaban, restrict goblin control over wizard money, and fortify our safety so humans and beasts with near-human intelligence can wed. Waverly aims to refund the Auror Benefits Program, as well as educate the wizarding population on all things Muggle to allow them to blend into the Muggle world more successfully.
Overall, it has been a very interesting and clean campaign. Remember to cast your vote for Minister of Magic on November 8! Good luck to all our candidates!
