Quidditch Gets a Premier League in the UK

Muggle Quidditch has been gaining popularity all over the world, so much that the UK just announced its launch of its Quidditch Premier League (QPL) today.

This summer, between May and August, eight teams from regions throughout the UK will be competing for the title of QPL. These teams are:

  • The London Monarchs
  • The Southwest Broadside
  • The Southeast Knights
  • The Eastern Mermaids
  • The Northern Watch
  • The Yorkshire Roses
  • The East Midland Archers
  • The West Midland Shredders

Director Jack Lennard stated,

It’s an opportunity for the sport to grow and gain prestige on a greater level nationally and internationally than ever before. It’s an opportunity for players to compete at the highest level. And most importantly, it’s an opportunity for more people in more places to find out about this incredible sport.
