The East Riding Theatre Welcomes Adrian Rawlins as Artistic Director
Known for his robust portrayal of James Potter in the Harry Potter film series, Adrian Rawlins continues to excel in his theatrical and film works by his recent appointment as an artistic director at the acclaimed East Riding Theatre in Yorkshire, England.
Having been with the theater since it opened in 2014, Rawlins previously served as a board member and feels immense honor to take up the new post.
2016 was a challenging year for many, both on the national and international stage, as well as losing a good handful of inspirational luminaries from the arts. I feel a life-affirming program for 2017 is what the doctor ordered.
To make matters even better, Rawlins’ directorial debut will be further pronounced through Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s production of The Night Season, which will run throughout March.
It seems that Rawlins’ passion for and dedication to the East Riding Theatre has not gone unnoticed, especially by theater manager Sue Kirkman, who commended him for his leadership, creativity, and professionalism.
Adrian encapsulates the very essence of what ERT is about, an all-hands-to-the-deck theatre that delivers top-notch work within a welcoming and community driven environment.
Similar to James Potter (funnily enough!), who displayed fierce loyalty to and passion for everything he loved (from Quidditch to Gryffindor to Lily, Harry, and the Marauders), Rawlins shows true loyalty to the theater and work he loves.
With the recent announcement of 75,000 tickets to be released for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, it is clear that the popularity and growth of theater work is on the rise!
