Eddie Redmayne to Narrate “Fantastic Beasts” Book
Ever wished you could add the Hogwarts Library books to your Harry Potter audio collection? Well, all your dreams are about to come true. Pottermore announced today that Eddie Redmayne has recorded the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them textbook, as written by Newt Scamander. And who could be better to narrate the book than Newt Scamander himself?
The school textbook, which was originally released in 2001 to raise money for Comic Relief and with Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s scribblings in it, has been updated to include more beasts and new writing from J.K. Rowling. It is due to be released on March 14, and the newly recorded audiobook will be available on the same day. Hear a snippet of Redmayne reading in the video below.
The audiobook is two hours long, retailing at £12 (or free with one credit if you’re an Audible user), and 15% of the proceeds from the audiobook will go toward Comic Relief and Lumos. It is currently available to pre-order on Audible UK, Audible US, and Audible Australia. The textbook is also available for pre-order from Bloomsbury and Scholastic. Find out more about the updated book here, and don’t forget that the other two books in the Hogwarts Library are already available with new covers.
