It’s a “Harry Potter” Party in Canterbury… and You’re Invited!
If you are in England and fancy a magical surprise this month, then listen up! On the night of January 26, Canterbury will play host to a Harry Potter–themed event that will get ALL the Muggles talking.
To welcome back students to Canterbury following the Christmas break, Club Chemistry will transform into Hogwarts to provide a magical night for its clubgoers. We’re sure Professor McGonagall would be extremely proud of the club’s ability to transfigure into everyone’s favorite school of magic.
Of course, attendees must dress as Hogwarts students or as other characters from the Potter series. Planning on dressing up as Harry? Look no further than the club itself, which, conveniently, will be handing out free pairs of Potter glasses, wands, and Gryffindor House ties on the night.
Naturally, Slytherin House ties will also be given to those who value ambition and pride… after all, it’s not a Hogwarts party without some fierce House rivalry.
Following an extremely successful Hogwarts party at Club Chemistry in September, the club is no stranger to witchcraft and wizardry. The club’s spokesperson proudly described what could be expected on the night at Hogwarts.
Enter through [P]latform 9 3/4, pick your [H]ouse out of the Sorting Hat, collect your [H]ouse tie, magic wand and free Potter spectacles [and] then go bust out your best Muggle moves on the dancefloor [sic].
Expect a mix of the biggest [i]ndie, [r]ock, [p]op [p]unk and [a]lternative [a]nthems all mixed in with classic hits from the [‘]50s, [‘]60s, [‘]70s, [‘]80s, [‘]90s, [‘]00s and […] Harry Potter movies.
Now, we may not have received our Hogwarts letters, but hey, a night at Hogwarts might be the next best thing!
However, with the undying popularity of the Potter universe, which has seen J.K. Rowling remain the queen of literature, it is wise to plan ahead if you will be attending the Canterbury Hogwarts party.
Entry into the club will cost £3 before 11:00 p.m. and £5 before midnight.
There is no doubt that Potter parties continue to reign supreme whether they embrace cosplay wizardry or celebrate Harry’s birthday. These magical parties are all about bringing Potterheads together to celebrate and enjoy all things magical.
