Vote for “Fantastic Beasts”, Daniel Radcliffe, and More in the National Film Awards UK

Awards season is upon us! Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has recently been nominated for two Academy Awards and five BAFTAs. And while we as fans can only wait to find out those results, we can show our support by voting in the upcoming National Film Awards UK!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has been nominated for Best International Film and Best Actor (Eddie Redmayne).

Eddie and the film are up against Daniel Radcliffe and illusionist film Now You See Me 2, which have been nominated for the same two categories.

Jim Broadbent (Horace Slughorn) has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor, while his co-star Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey) appears to be nominated for both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress for Bridget Jones’s Baby. The film is also nominated for Best Comedy and Best Actress (Renée Zellweger).

And two of Tom Felton’s recent films are on the list! A United Kingdom, about a controversial mixed-race marriage in the 1940s, has been nominated for Best British Film, Best Director (Amma Asante), Best Screenplay (Guy Hibbert), Best Actor (David Oyelowo), and Best Supporting Actress (Terry Pheto). Stratton, an action-thriller about an international terrorist cell, has been nominated for Best Thriller.

 

A United Kingdom

 

John Cleese (Nearly Headless Nick) has been nominated for Global Contribution to Motion Picture, up against Joan Collins (Tales from the CryptThe Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas), Kelsey Grammer (Toy Story 2, Transformers: Age of Extinction), Hugh Grant (Notting HillMusic and Lyrics), Julie Andrews (The Sound of MusicMary Poppins), Pierce Brosnan (the James Bond series), Simon Pegg (Hot FuzzStar Trek Beyond), Jude Law (the Sherlock Holmes series, Enemy at the Gates), Catherine Zeta Jones (ChicagoOcean’s Twelve), and James Nesbitt (the Hobbit series, Bloody Sunday).

Lastly, Riz Ahmed has been nominated for Best Breakthrough Performance in a Film for his role as Bodhi Rook, the Imperial cargo pilot who defected to the Rebel Alliance, in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (featuring Guy Henry, who played Pius Thicknesse in the Potter films).

The ceremony will take place on March 29 and will be broadcast on Sky Showcase.
