UK Announces National Quidditch Tournament
While Quidditch fans in the US have to wait until April for the big national tournament of the year, QuidditchUK is hosting the British Quidditch Cup on March 11 and 12, just over a month away.
The tournament will consist of 32 of the best Quidditch teams from all across the UK. These teams will come together in Rugeley, Staffordshire, to compete for the championship. The event will be free to the public, available not only in person but also online.
QuidditchUK performed well at last year’s Quidditch World Cup, coming in third overall. Mel Piper, the President of QuidditchUK, gives us her thoughts.
Quidditch has seen rapid growth over the last few years, with a large number of new players and increased attention across the UK. The British Quidditch Cup is set to bring both new and old players together, for one of the largest events [o]n the calendar. It is also set to be our most open competition yet, with the top six teams all vying to prove themselves before the European championships two weeks later.
