Luna Lovegood: Nature Documentary Host?
Luna Lovegood wasn’t just a part for Evanna Lynch, something to be left behind once filming ended, but more a part of her life, then and now. She has always spoken about how connected she felt to Luna, the quiet but steadfast Ravenclaw, and it seems that she has even given thought to her character’s career path. Since Luna is married to a Magizoologist, Rolf Scamander (following in his grandfather Newt’s footsteps), the choice seems perfect.
In an interview with Radio Times, she revealed what she would like to see in Luna’s future if given the chance.
I would like to do a wildlife documentary series with Luna. I think she’d be a great host.
We can just see it now – Luna and Rolf, traveling the world, showing adults and children alike all of the magical beasts that they have only seen in the well-worn family copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, searching out the elusive Bowtruckle, cautiously and respectfully approaching a hippogriff, or even interviewing Charlie Weasley about dragons.
This career choice for Luna should come as no surprise, really, since Evanna is well known to have a great love of all animals, is a vegan, and has aided World Animal Protection in raising awareness of the need to promote animal welfare. She also shows her love by posting pictures of her cat, Lil Puff, on her Instagram!
What do you think of Evanna’s choice? What magical creatures do you think should be featured? The big question is – if Luna did a segment on Thestrals, would only some people be able to see them? Let us know your ideas below!
