UPDATED: Listen: Eddie Redmayne Smoothly Narrates the “Fantastic Beasts” Audiobook

Back in January, we were thrilled to learn that Eddie Redmayne will be narrating an audiobook version of Harry’s schoolbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to coincide with the upcoming new hardcover version of the book.

Now, in an exciting clip released by ET from the audiobook, Newt Scamander informs us about basilisks, and Redmayne’s velvety narration is even better than we imagined!

Redmayne grew to really appreciate J.K. Rowling’s writing during his experience recording:

It wasn’t until I started reading it out loud for the audiobook that I realized how tricky and poetic J.K. Rowling’s use of sounds and language can be. There are some really great tongue twister words in here! Occasionally, I had to stop recording just because I was incapable of saying the words without either laughing or getting my tongue in a muddle. I enjoyed the challenge and hope listeners can sense that in my narration.

The eagerly anticipated new version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will include six new creatures and a new foreword from Newt Scamander.

The audiobook, hardcover book, and Hogwarts Library boxed set with Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard will all be released on March 14. Learn more about them here.

You can preorder the audiobook now from Audible. And watch a behind-the-scenes video of Redmayne’s recording that we previously shared here.

What do you think of Redmayne’s narration? Are you excited for the audiobook?
