Alumni Roundup: Tributes and Travels
The Potter alumni sure seem to be having fun in this week’s Alumni Roundup! We’ll check in with Dame Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall), James Phelps (Fred Weasley), Stan Ianevski (Viktor Krum), and more!
First up, the legendary, the one and only Dame Maggie Smith. She appeared at a tribute for playwright Peter Shaffer.
And wouldn’t you know, we get a twofer for this event. Daniel Radcliffe also appeared at the event and spoke highly of Shaffer, who gave him his theater breakout role in Equus.
At the time I had had no stage experience, no technical training whatsoever, and outside of ‘Potter’ there was very little on my CV that would suggest I could cope with anything as demanding and intense as his play and his character. But fortunately Peter managed to look beyond that, and he had much, much more faith in me than I had in myself.
Moving right along, we have another two-in-one appearance! Colin Farrell (who plays Percival Graves in Fantastic Beasts) could hardly contain his joy when he met one of his heroes for the first time. Who was this hero? None other than Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) himself!
The Beasts star was at WonderCon promoting his new film, The Beguiled, when Oldman stepped in to praise Farrell on his acting work. Farrell could hardly contain his joy.
James Phelps has been quite active on Instagram lately and has treated us to many pictures of his travels. The actor has been in Orlando, Florida, and has documented each of his adventures, whether it’s being at the Kennedy Space Center or simply just enjoying the best barbecue he’s ever had.
Stan Ianevski shows us he’s still got the moves while visiting Germany!
Back on Instagram, Luke Youngblood (Lee Jordan) treated us to a nice photo!
Are you a Luke Youngblood fan? Catch him at MuggleNet Live! 2017!
Keeping in the pattern of favorite Gryffindors, Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) shared a sweet snap on her Instagram promoting Alfie Brown’s comedy show.
And finally, the beautiful Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) is gracing the cover of Irish Tatler, and she was nice enough to give us a peek!
It’s nice to see the actors relaxing some, even if it’s just a little bit!
