First Look: Check Out Tom Felton in Uniform for Upcoming War Drama “Megan Leavey”

by Mavra Choudhry · April 8, 2017

Recently, we caught a first glimpse of the trailer for the upcoming war drama Megan Leavey, starring Tom Felton. Although Tom was, unfortunately, MIA from that first look at the new film, Felton fans can now rejoice – new promotional images from Megan Leavey have been released by Bleecker Street. Fans can catch a look at Tom as well as stars Kate Mara, Bradley Whitford, Ramon Rodriguez, and rapper Common.

The film, directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, is a biographical drama about Marine Corporal Megan Leavey (played by Kate Mara) and a combat dog named Rex during their deployment in Iraq. Based on a true story, it portrays the unique bond between soldiers and canines and the IED explosion that puts their fate in balance. In the film, Tom plays Andrew Dean, a veteran dog handler.

You can check out an image of Tom in his military outfit below, as well as shots of the other stars in the upcoming biopic:

Although Tom has been killing it recently in The Flash as Julian Dorn, we’re definitely excited to see him in something new.

You can watch a first-look trailer for Megan Leavey below. The film is set for release in theaters everywhere on June 9. What with the powerful and heartwarming story, Tom Felton, and – of course – dogs, we’re going to be marking our calendars for sure.
