“Quidditch” Added to Oxford Dictionaries!
Hold on to your broomsticks, everyone! Oxford’s English Dictionary has added a new word, and it’s exciting news for the wizarding world.
Oxford Dictionaries announced that “quidditch” snatched a spot in its English dictionary!
Mel Piper, president of QuidditchUK, was ecstatic to see the addition.
I’m thrilled to see [‘]quidditch[‘] being added to the oxford dictionary. It really shows how far we have come as a sport and is a key stage in our development in being seen more legitimately in our own right.
The addition comes with quidditch increasing in popularity, with hundreds of teams from all across the world who play the game.
The US Quidditch Cup 10 was held in Kissimmee, Florida, this year. Check out our report on the event here!
