Role Call: Spring Cleaning!
Spring is upon us, and with spring comes change! In that spirit, we have given our Role Call and Alumni Roundup posts a slight switcharoo! We are now splitting our roundups into two categories: younger generation alumni and older generation alumni. The amazingly talented Potter alumni family is always so busy, there’s no way we can include everyone in one post!
Read on for updates on everything the younger generation of Potter alumni has been up to!
Everyone knows the well-loved story of Winnie the Pooh. Not everyone knows, however, the toll that the fame of the story took on the author and his family.
For those of you who don’t know, author A.A. Milne wrote Winnie the Pooh after being inspired by his son, the real-life Christopher Robin, and his stuffed toy animals.
Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley) plays Milne in a new film called Goodbye Christopher Robin. The film follows the family during their journey of being shot into international fame. Check out the gallery for a peek at the movie.
Next up, fans of Fear the Walking Dead will be happy to know that the series has been renewed by AMC!
The show is a prequel series to the mega-popular Walking Dead. Frank Dillane, who plays the suave young Tom Riddle in Half-Blood Prince, plays Nick Clark in the series. Adding to the excitement, the show will have two new showrunners, Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg.
Continuing on: All aboard the TARDIS, everyone! A trailer for the Doctor Who spinoff Class has been released!
The series follows the students of Coal Hill Academy (a frequent backdrop for Who episodes) as they try to take on tasks given to them by the Doctor, while also trying to keep up with their own normal lives. Anna Shaffer, who plays Romilda Vane in Potter, is featured as Rachel Chapman in the series.
Finally, Stanislav Yanevski (Viktor Krum) sure has been busy lately! He’s been working on not one but TWO films.
First up: The Cloaking. Not much is known about this film currently. But it does have an IMDb page! From the looks of it, filming starts in mid-June of this year. Maybe we will be treated to some set photos from Stan himself, like we do for his next project on the list!
Stan is keeping the mystery up in his next post, which shows us behind-the-scenes photos from an apparent upcoming project, The Frame of Regret. According to his comments, it is a non-speaking, intense drama short film. Release date TBD!
That’s all for this week! Are you excited to see all the alumni projects? What project are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments below!
