Daniel Radcliffe Signs On to New Project “Guns Akimbo”

by Sophie Reid · May 12, 2017

One thing we love about Daniel Radcliffe is how he isn’t afraid to sign on to a wide range of projects. Since Potter, he’s been a part of comedy, rom-com, and horror projects, and much, much more, and we’ve loved seeing him stretch his acting skills across these different genres.

Now, Variety is reporting that Daniel has signed up to star in action comedy Guns Akimbo. The film will be directed by Jason Lei Howden, who has also written the screenplay. The film will see Daniel in the lead role, as Miles.

Miles [is] an ordinary guy who suddenly finds himself forced to fight a gladiator-like battle for a dark website that streams the violence for viewers. Miles must fight heavily armed Nix and also save his kidnapped ex-girlfriend.

One of the producers, Joe Neurauter, commented on the casting.

Jason Lei Howden is an incredibly talented new filmmaker, who with ‘Guns Akimbo’ delivers a commercial action film that is original, fresh and gives us unique and exciting characters. We are convinced that audiences will love to discover Daniel Radcliffe as Miles.

The film certainly sounds intriguing, and if Daniel’s previous films are anything to go by, then we’re in for a treat! Daniel has just finished a run on the West End, so we’re sure that we’ll learn more about this new project very soon, once pre-production has finished. For now, you can catch Daniel in the National Theatre Live recording of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead at selected encore performances.

Can you see Daniel in an action comedy role? Are you looking forward to seeing him take on Miles? Let us know below!
