“Harry Potter” Book Club Coming to London!

by Sophie Reid · May 13, 2017

We’ll be honest: We love book clubs, especially if they involve Harry Potter. From MuggleNet’s own Alohomora! to the new Pottermore book club, as well as Emma Watson’s Our Shared Shelf feminist book group, we’ve been spoiled for choice as Harry Potter fans recently. Well, rejoice – now there’s another one on the scene!

Unlike the previously mentioned book clubs and rereads, which all take place online, the Wizard Book Club will be an in-person club in London, England. The Wizard Book Club will coincide with the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone this June. It will run for nine weeks, beginning on Tuesday, June 20.

In celebration of 20 years of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone this June, Harry Potter fans can join the Wizard Book Club in London. The Wizard Book Club proclaims that they can help Londoners des-stress and take some ‘me-time’ with Harry Potter. It is a proven fact that reading can help you de-stress and lower your blood levels, so why not give it a go with us? Forget yoga; Harry Potter can help you.

The Wizard Book Club is a weekly book club that includes wizarding snacks and treats, activities and professional storytellers reading two chapters per week. The Wizard Book Club will run for 9 weeks throughout the Summer at a ‘Secret Location’ in London.

There will also be a Book 1 afterparty in September, where costumes will be highly encouraged. Spaces for the first book club night are limited, so if you’re interested in re-experiencing the magic with a bunch of highly enthusiastic Harry Potter fans, then make sure to sign up before it’s too late! After all, what could be better than rereading the series with a group of people who love it just as much as you do? Well, frankly, we think it sounds wizard!

You can find out more about the book club and book your ticket here. The first book club will take place on June 20, beginning at 7 p.m. and lasting for about two hours.

Londoners, will you be joining the Wizard Book club? Let us know in the comments, and hopefully, we’ll see you there!
