David Thewlis Nominated for an Emmy!
David Thewlis, who portrays our beloved Remus Lupin in the Potter series, has been honored with an Emmy nomination!
The nominees were announced yesterday, and Thewlis’s portrayal of V.M. Varga in FX’s Fargo earned him a spot in the Best Supporting Actor in a TV Movie/Limited Series category, among the ranks of other talented actors such as Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, The Legend of Tarzan) and Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada, The Terminal).
Fargo itself also gained a nomination for Best Limited Series, and Ewan McGregor and Carrie Coon scored nods for Best Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a TV Movie/Limited Series, respectively, bringing the nominations for the FX thriller to four!
Thewlis is no stranger to award nominations, having been nominated for about 15 different awards in his career, including BAFTAs and British Independent Film Awards, and he has won a whopping 9 of those nominations! However, this is Thewlis’s very first Emmy nomination.
The Emmys will air on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. PDT and are held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. They will be aired live coast-to-coast on CBS.
Congratulations to David Thewlis, and the entire cast of Fargo, on the nominations!
Will you be tuning in to the Emmys in September? Whom would you like to see win?
