“Fantastic Beasts” Sequel Music Will Premiere at Film Festival!
As we all eagerly await next year’s still-untitled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel, the crew is obviously working hard to make the film! That includes composer James Newton Howard, who will premiere select music from the upcoming sequel at the 52nd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival this week!
What exactly will be premiered is still unclear, but whatever it is, it’s sure to be at the level of “Inside the Case,” “Kowalski Rag,” or “Newt Says Goodbye to Tina” – in other words, sure to be filled with a magical sense of wonder (and probably make us cry on occasion). It is also unclear if we will learn the titles of the pieces since those could give us some hints as to what will happen in the film!
In addition to conducting the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in his new music, Howard will receive the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema, the festival’s top prize. The festival runs from June 30, 2017, to July 8, 2017. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available!
Congratulation to James Newton Howard on his award, and we look forward to hearing his new score.
