David Tennant and Michael Sheen to Star in Neil Gaiman’s “Good Omens”
In exciting news, David Tennant and Michael Sheen will officially play an angel and demon duo in the TV adaptation of Good Omens. It is understandable, then, that Nerdist and others consider this casting to be a good omen!
Written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, Good Omens is centred around the angel and demon duo’s search for the missing Antichrist. Aziraphale, who is reported to be of an obtuse and persnickety character, will be played by Sheen, while the demonic Crowley will be played by none other than Tennant himself.
From playing enigmatic villains like Barty Crouch, Jr. in Harry Potter to Kilgrave in Jessica Jones, it is clear that Tennant loves being a baddie!
Sheen, who played an eccentric robo-bartender in Passengers, expressed pure delight at being cast in the miniseries.
I first read Good Omens as a teenager, and it’s been one of my favorite stories ever since. To be part of the team entrusted with bringing it alive on[-]screen is a bit of a dream come true, to be honest. To work alongside Neil, who[m] I think is one of the greatest storytellers of all time, is incredibly exciting. And just like the rest of the world, I’m a huge fan of David’s, so I relish trying to save it with him.
We can’t wait!
