Favorite Activities to Return to A Celebration of Harry Potter
For one weekend every January, Harry Potter fans converge on Universal Orlando Resort in Florida for what has become one of the most exciting fan experiences. A Celebration of Harry Potter returns to the park January 26–28, 2018, and plans are already well underway! We reported previously that some of the talent that will be in attendance has been announced, and now Universal Orlando has announced some of the activities that will be featured at the celebration. Hint: They’re fan favorites you won’t want to miss!
Perhaps the most exciting is that Paul Harris, Wand Combat Choreographer, will return to lead guests in wand combat skills. A kids’ panel will also be held, where young witches and wizards under 12 can learn how to cast spells. It’s a magical time to learn how to correctly use that new wand you just picked up in Ollivanders!
If wand movement isn’t your thing, you may be most excited to learn the choreography of the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang student dances. Choreographers at the celebration will lead an event that will get your feet moving!
For our Ravenclaws (and those with Ravenclaw tendencies), there will be film trivia in the Harry Potter Knowledge Challenge. You’ve got a few months to rewatch those movies and reread Page to Screen! Or you can simply wait and watch the films at the park with other fans while enjoying a nice butterbeer.
The Chalk Art Walk will also be returning. Artists will show off their drawings of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them characters and scenes. Additionally, guests can contribute their own chalk art to display at the event.
There’s so much to look forward to, and in the months to come, there is sure to be more announcements. Keep an eye here as more information becomes available, and start planning to come see us at the event!
