Rupert Grint, Shantay You Stay!
Rupert Grint has a reality television guilty pleasure, and it might not be what you expect!
Speaking to the Guardian‘s On My Radar, Rupert revealed that one of his favorite shows to watch is none other than RuPaul’s Drag Race on LogoTV.
It’s an art form I think a lot of people should know about and appreciate because it’s really impressive. I like it when they have to make their own outfits, and I love Sharon Needles; she’s my favorite. It’s really good TV, and I’m constantly trying to get people to watch it. I’ve actually managed to get my dad to watch it.
Don’t mind us; we’re just starting a petition to get Rupert on as a guest judge. Ru, work your magic!
Drag Race isn’t the only show he’s a fan of, however. He recently also stated that he’d love to star in a reboot of the fan-favorite survival drama Lost. Speaking to Digital Spy, he confessed he was late to the Lost game, but he instantly fell in love with how the show makes it difficult to predict what will happen next.
The depth of it – you think you know where it’s going, but I cannot predict it at all. It’s ridiculous; I’m on season five now, and it’s so confusing. The characters are so well formed; I’m really enjoying that. It’s fantastic… definitely, yeah, I’d love to [get involved in a reboot]. It looked like a fun thing to be a part of. Hawaii’s beautiful.
Currently, however, Rupert is busy with Sky One’s Sick Note, which debuted on November 7. It seems one of his co-stars, Nick Frost, is a big fan but has one issue with acting alongside the Harry Potter star.
I really like the Harry Potter movies, and Rupert is Ron Weasley! He’s a quiet man and great actor, who is very professional and gets on with his business. But he’s also a terrible giggler. He laughs a lot, so I try not to laugh, but when I’m stern it makes him worse.
While it’s no secret that Rupert has enjoyed amazing success since the conclusion of the Potter series, he states that it has been hard to distance himself from Ron Weasley and try to move on to other things to show off his abilities as an actor. However, he went on to say that playing in the Potter films was “the role of his dreams,” having been a huge fan of the books beforehand.
Of course, Rupert has no regrets about being in the world-famous franchise.
It’s always going to be a fight, but it’s never something I’m really acting against – I think it will always be with me. I am proud of it. I was really proud to be a part of it.
We love you, Rupert! And we can’t wait to see what you’ll do next!
