“Harry Potter” Character-Themed New Year’s Resolutions
New Year’s is coming, and with it come New Year’s resolutions. However, sometimes it can be hard to think of a resolution. You have to figure out who you want to become in the coming year. Well, if you’re looking to become more like one of your favorite characters in 2018, here are a few suggestions you can use to figure out your resolution.
1. Harry Potter
This resolution is to find someone in need of help and do all you can for them. Everyone knows that Harry has a thing for saving people, and this resolution honors that. Also, by helping even one person, you’re helping to make the world a better place, a worthy way to live up to Harry’s legacy.
2. Hermione Granger
This resolution is to read at least one book for pleasure each month in 2018. Hermione is known for her cleverness and bookish ways, so reading is one of the easiest ways to emulate her. These books can be any genre, from fantasy to reference books. After all, Hermione reads everything.
3. Ron Weasley
This resolution is to learn how to cook your favorite meal. Ron never tried to hide his love of food, and given Molly Weasley’s proficiency in the kitchen, it’s pretty likely he learned how to cook fairly well. Also, once you learn, you can share that meal with your friends, and if there’s one characteristic that truly defines Ron, it’s his love for his friends.
4. Ginny Weasley
This resolution is to confess to your crush. Ginny Weasley had a massive, embarrassing crush on Harry Potter for years, and it all worked out well for her. So take a deep breath, build up that Gryffindor courage, and maybe the same thing will happen to you. Because as we all know quite well, anything is possible if you’ve got enough nerve.
5. Luna Lovegood
This resolution is to go out in public wearing an outfit you never thought you could pull off. Luna has a unique style and never lets anyone else’s opinion keep her from expressing that style. And, quite honestly it worked for her, regardless of whether she was wearing radish earrings or Spectrespecs. So go out there and wear something crazy.
6. Neville Longbottom
This resolution is to do something that has always scared you. This can be anything from skydiving to petting a dog. It doesn’t have to be anything huge because Neville taught us that even the small acts of bravery are significant. All that matters is that you’re able to confront your fear and realize, just like Neville did, that you’re braver than you know.
