Watch: Eddie Redmayne Reads a Christmas Bedtime Story
Eddie Redmayne appeared on BBC’s CBeebies network on Christmas Day to share a special Christmas bedtime story with pint-sized viewers. Unfortunately, Redmayne did not read from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for the segment. In the Facebook teaser video, however, he did introduce a stuffed newt named Amanda!
Redmayne read the picture book If I Had a Dinosaur, written by Gabby Dawnay and illustrated by Alex Barrow. The story follows a young girl who imagines what it would be like to have a dinosaur as a pet. During Redmayne’s introduction of the story, he provided flashes of Newt Scamander’s love for fantastic beasts.
Hey there, I’m Eddie, and I love animals. Now, tonight’s bedtime story is about a little girl who wants a really big pet.
If you missed the Christmas Day airing, you can check out the video of Redmayne reading If I Had a Dinosaur below. After listening to Redmayne’s audiobook narration of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, we’re not surprised that this segment is totally charming!
