Next Wave of Tickets for “Cursed Child” Available Next Week!
It was announced Wednesday by producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender of the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child that a new wave of tickets will be available for purchase on April 23, 2018.
The play, which is in two separate parts, premiered at the Palace Theatre in London in the summer of 2016. The critically acclaimed production continues to play to sold-out houses with a few new actors while seven of the original actors have brought their roles stateside to Broadway. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is currently in previews at the Lyric Theatre located at 214 West 43rd Street in New York, New York, and opens officially on April 22, 2018.
Tickets are currently available for April 22, 2018, until March 10, 2019. However, on Monday, April 23, 2018, a new block of tickets will become available for performances through May 12, 2019. This upcoming ticket release will be followed by a Ticketmaster Verified Fan ticket release sometime this summer. Although the play is split into two parts, it is recommended that both parts are seen the same day or consecutively over two days. (There is an option to just book one part as well.) For each performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, there are 300 tickets available that are priced at $40 or less per part with half of those tickets being priced at $20 per part.
There will be a “Virtual Waiting Room” available on Cursed Child‘s official website on Monday, April 23, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. ET until 11:00 a.m. ET for those interested in purchasing tickets. Once the tickets are released, everybody that was waiting will be randomly placed in line to assure purchases are as fair as possible while also protecting the site against bots.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards last year and has now won an astounding total of 24 major theater awards in the UK. The production has already become the highest-grossing play in Broadway history, bringing in more than two million dollars.
Seven members of the award-winning original West End company will reunite on stage for the Broadway premiere: Jamie Parker (Harry Potter), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger), and Paul Thornley (Ron Weasley) with Poppy Miller (Ginny Potter), Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), Alex Price (Draco Malfoy), and Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy).
