First Look at Ford Anglia From LEGO’s New “Harry Potter”-Themed Sets
A sneak peek image of the new LEGO Flying Ford Anglia was spotted on the official LEGO website! The Ford Anglia is part of the 75953 Whomping Willow set coming this summer!
The Whomping Willow set, along with a few others, is part of the new “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” theme from LEGO that is scheduled to be released on August 1, 2018. This is the first time since 2011 that LEGO is revisiting the Harry Potter line, and it looks like it may have been worth the wait! The theme will feature material from both the original Harry Potter series and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Unfortunately, we don’t have any more information about the Whomping Willow set at this time.
The first-look image also features 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall, the first set revealed from the new theme. Hogwarts Great Hall, which is 14″ tall, 6″ wide, and 11″ deep, contains 878 pieces and will cost $99.99. The set is extensive and highly detailed, consisting of four individual levels. The Great Hall will take up one level with House tables and head table with seats, a fireplace, two reversible House banners, and four floating candles. It also includes brooms, the Sorting Hat, a trophy cup, a teapot, and even a few food items from the delicious Hogwarts feasts! Your LEGO figures will be able to dine on a turkey leg, ice cream, and a small cake. The four-level tower features a spiral grand staircase, potions room, treasure room, and a Mirror of Erised.
The set also includes ten minifigures: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Susan Bones, Professor McGonagall, Professor Quirrell with dual Lord Voldemort face, Hagrid, Albus Dumbledore and Nearly Headless Nick. It also comes with Hedwig and Scabbers figurines as well as a buildable Basilisk and Fawkes.
The other confirmed set from the new theme is Grindelwald’s Escape. The set is much smaller, with only 132 pieces, but is also more affordable at only $19.99. As previously covered, the set includes Seraphina Picquery and Gellert Grindelwald minifigures, a Thestral with posable wings, and a buildable carriage with opening doors and removable roof. The carriage can be seen in the new Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer.

LEGO currently has a teaser site up in anticipation of the anxiously awaited new Harry Potter sets, but there isn’t any information available on the site yet. Currently, the rest of the theme is just rumors, but seeing as three of the anticipated sets have been confirmed, it is likely that we will also be seeing a set of Aragog with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley and Newt Scamander’s suitcase, including minifigure beasts. One of the adorable included creatures was already confirmed by J.K. Rowling on Twitter!
