Hogwarts Mystery Adds New Content and New Free Energy Source
Since its release on April 25, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has received some mixed reviews and has already developed a reputation for being notoriously frustrating in many ways.
One of the biggest complaints about the game is how quickly your character runs out of energy. This is clearly a tactic used by Jam City to encourage players to spend real money on the game by buying gems. Most users, however, refuse to spend the money and therefore end up sitting around for an hour and a half waiting for their energy to regenerate. The only other solution the game offers for this energy issue is special ways to acquire additional free energy hidden throughout the game.
Thankfully, with the latest update from Jam City, a new free energy source was added! Players can now tap on Peeves the poltergeist, who can be found in the East Towers next to the Divination classroom staircase for more energy. Once used, though, players will have to wait an undetermined amount of time for him to return before using this method again. With the addition of Peeves, there are currently eight secret ways hidden in the game to collect free energy. The other major flaw in the game is that, for the first two weeks since its release, players have been stuck at the beginning of Year 3 and unable to progress past Chapter 1. However, the new update has also addressed this issue by adding new content to the game that allows your character to progress further into the story. While it is uncertain exactly how far players can now advance, it has been confirmed by GameRant that content is available at least up until Chapter 4.
While there are a number of other glitches and issues with the game that still need to be addressed, the new update is at least a start! It’s likely that Jam City will attempt to continue trying to fix these problems and improve the game in order to keep fans playing, so continue keeping an eye out for new updates.
