“Cursed Child” Actors to Participate in Broadway Pet Adoption Event!
Broadway Barks will hold its 20th-anniversary event in New York City on July 14, 2018, and four actors from the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be among the 80 celebrity participants taking part in the free pet adoption event!
Broadway Barks is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which Playbill says “is one of the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations.” The charity has raised over $300 million for people with AIDS and other illnesses with the help of members of the American theater community, including Daniel Radcliffe.
Starting at 3:00 p.m. in Shubert Alley, attendees will meet and greet adorable, adoptable cats and dogs. From 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the pets “will make their way to the stage with a mix of Broadway favorites.” These favorites include Cursed Child actors Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger), Poppy Miller (Ginny Weasley), and Paul Thornley (Ron Weasley).
