Top Five Moments from the Latest “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” Trailer
The final trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has been released, and it is filled with lots of great new footage. Here are my top five moments and thoughts from the new trailer.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s Relationship
We know a bit of their history from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We also saw a bit of footage in the last trailer, and with this latest one, we see Dumbledore viewing a young version of himself with a young version of Grindelwald in the Mirror of Erised. With both the young versions of their characters (Jamie Campbell Bower as Grindelwald and Toby Regbo as Dumbledore), hopefully, we’ll get flashes of their time in Godric’s Hollow together.
The Other Scamander
We finally get a glimpse of the war hero, Auror, and Newt’s older brother, Theseus Scamander. Newt, like a lot of younger siblings, hates being compared to his older brother. There’s also the complicated fact that Newt’s love interest, Leta Lestrange, just happens to be in a relationship with Theseus. There’s so much to explore with this complicated relationship, and I hope we’ll get to see it when the film comes out in November.
Grindelwald
This trailer shows a lot more Grindelwald than the previous two. We see his ability to influence a crowd to get them to join his cause. I’m curious to see how much of the movie is told from his point of view in comparison to Newt and his friends’. Plus, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them ended with his capture, so I’m intrigued to see how he goes from there to commanding a wizarding army.
More of Jacob in the Wizarding World
In the last trailer, Jacob met Nicolas Flamel, and in this one, he experiences Portkey travel for the first time. Given his entertaining reactions to anything magical in the previous film, I already know he is going to have some more great comedy moments in this one, especially when anything magical is involved.
