Changi Airport Transforms into a Wizarding Wonderland
Singapore’s Changi Airport has a mission: to replace platform nine and three-quarters as the wizarding world’s hub of transportation. The airport has redecorated a section of the building to look like Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and Hogsmeade, and the results are amazing.
Terminal 3 is a shopping experience, with the facades of Zonko’s Joke Shop and Honeydukes selling all sorts of memorabilia – everything from Funko Pop!s to stationery. Terminal 1 is dedicated to the magical menagerie of Newt Scamander, featuring a gigantic Niffler game in which fans stack up giant gold coins. There’s a full Quidditch pitch, a wand station for spellcasting, and a huge replica of the Hogwarts Express itself.
You’ll want to spend all day at the airport when you find out that from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, you can get a special moving photo with the Fat Lady, and at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m., there’s a wonderful show of holiday lights and snow. If you wind up in the basement of Terminal 2, you can get a photo with giant plushies of Harry and Hedwig.
Changi Airport has us wanting to fly to Singapore just to experience this! You’ve got until mid-February to see the magic, so check out the photos below and head to Changi Airport while you still can!
