“Harry Potter” Merchandise Is Finally Coming to Korea
Harry Potter fans in Korea can start saving their Galleons because Korean company CJ ENM has been appointed as Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ licensing agent.
This new appointment means that CJ ENM will be responsible for building licensing business for Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ range of brands, which include Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. The deal between Warner Bros. and CJ ENM will allow for the distribution of merchandise, publishing, and promotion. This means that Korean fans will soon be able to show their Potter pride with some Harry Potter-themed fashion, homeware, and toys.
Bianca Lee, the managing director of Warner Bros. Consumer Products in Asia, expressed her excitement over the new development.
Through the strong reach of CJ ENM in the Korean market, we will be able to bring our world-renowned brands and products to local fans and consumers.
This deal couldn’t have come at a better time – wizarding world products will be available at the end of the year, hopefully in time for Christmas.
Park Hyun-il, the head of animation content business at CJ ENM, is very positive about the new agreement and what it might mean for the future.
With CJ ENM’s licensing experience and strong network in Korea, coupled with WBCP’s powerful global brands, we are confident that this relationship will bring great synergies [that] will help us expand the domestic licensing market and inject new excitement and fun [into] the local retail scene.
For Korean fans who will finally be able to get their hands on some magical merchandise, it is going to be a very magical end of the year indeed.
