“Harry Potter” Quotes for the New Year

Somehow, even though 2018 dragged on forever, it is now 2019 and we are at the beginning of a new year. I can guarantee that this year, things are going to happen. Those things could be big or small or even average sized. I do not know what those things are going to be, nor do I know when they are going to happen. But I do know that these Harry Potter quotes can get us through anything. Here are some of the Potter quotes I’ll be keeping with me this year.

 

“Time is making fools of us again.” – Albus Dumbledore

This quote is a useful one to remember when January feels like it’s dragging on forever but then suddenly, February, March, and April have all come and gone. Time makes fools of us all, and no amount of careful planning can really change that.

 

“I think I’ll just go down and have some pudding and wait for it all to turn up… It always does in the end.” – Luna Lovegood

When you’ve given something your best effort, the only thing left to do is to let go. Do your best and leave the rest to the workings of the universe. And when the universe gives you your results back, you can figure out how to move on from there. In the meantime, treat yourself to some pudding. You deserve it.

Muggles are the people who don’t believe in us, who tear us down instead of building us up, who exhaust us and sap us of our strength. This year, find ways to affirm your own strength and worth. Don’t let anyone stop you from believing in yourself.

This is one of the most important quotes from the Potter series to me. In stressful situations, it’s easy to feel like you’re getting worked up over nothing. Your feelings, your worries, your dreams, and your desires are valid and real. Only you can define your reality, and no one can take that away from you.

2018 has come and gone, and whatever happened in the last year, you are still intact.
