Eddie Redmayne Models New Shirt to Support Red Nose Day 2019
Disney, TK Maxx, and English pop artist Sir Peter Blake have joined together to launch and design an exclusive collection of Disney-character-themed attire for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2019. The goal of Red Nose Day is to raise money for programs working to address gender equality, mental health issues, homelessness, and the upbringing of children around the globe. Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander) is one of the celebrities fronting this year’s campaign.
The tee-hee-hee shirts are made from Fairtrade-certified cotton grown by Ugandan farmers who are being actively supported by TK Maxx’s Sustainable Trade Programme. The funds collected from the cotton go to communities in Uganda where farmers are provided with increased income so their children are able to attend school.
We are over the moon to be an official partner of Red Nose Day again for 2019. It’s fantastic to be involved for another year and to also have Disney and Peter Blake working with us on this campaign. We have no doubt that this fantastic range will appeal to all families across the UK […] without [whose] generosity we wouldn’t be able to raise life[-]changing funds for Red Nose Day.
The assortment of shirts, available in child and adult sizes, feature beloved Disney characters, including, but not limited to, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Dumbo, Bambi, and Winnie the Pooh. Each character is tee-hee-hee laughing, in support of the motto “wear a laugh, change a life,” and wearing a red nose. The designs can be purchased now in TK Maxx stores and online at www.tkmaxx.com. Children’s shirts start at £6.99 with at least £2.50 donated to the cause, and adults’ start at £9.99 with at least £4.50 donated.
Homesense will also be selling a collection of Red Nose Day accessories with the Disney designs. Water bottles, aprons, tea towels, totes, and more are available in Homesense stores and at the TK Maxx online store.
Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day has raised over $1 billion since its beginning in 1988.
It’s fantastic to be able to work together once again on this year’s range with our long-standing partner TK Maxx and an honor to have Peter Blake and Disney’s exclusive designs for 2019, helping us to raise funds for Red Nose Day. Disney has some of the most loved and recognizable characters known around the world and we’re delighted to be able to feature Mickey and friends on this year’s merchandise.
