Spanish-Language “Harry Potter” Audiobooks Narrated by Carlos Ponce Launched by Audible Latino
The Harry Potter series is no stranger to the world of audiobooks, and the Spanish-language versions of the books are going to get audiobooks for the first time through the new Audible Latino! The first audiobook, Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal, “a production of Audible and Pottermore Publishing,” was made available on Audible yesterday, February 21, according to Bustle.
The audiobook is narrated by Puerto Rican actor, singer, composer, and television personality Carlos Ponce. While only the first title has been released so far, the remaining six Harry Potter audiobooks are expected to be released later this year. As Bustle notes, this news also marks the launch of Audible Latino, which a press release has described as “an integrated, multicultural destination for U.S. Hispanic customers to access a robust content catalog of Spanish-language and culturally relevant English-language spoken work content.”
Carlos Ponce was also quoted in the press release about his work on Harry Potter. (He’s also a Gryffindor!)
The magic of Harry Potter has entranced people the world over for more than twenty years. I am thrilled about this amazing new listening experience, for my fellow Gryffindors (and members of the other casas too!). Audible Latino is bringing outstanding storytelling and entertainment to the U.S. Hispanic community and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.
