Review and Giveaway: Win a Subscription to the Eaglemoss Wizarding World Figurine Collection!

by Sadie Bradley · March 29, 2019

I’ve been a Harry Potter fan since I was six years old; shortly after that, I started my own collection of Harry Potter merchandise. Over the years, my collection has grown to include many different types of merchandise – but my favorite thing to collect has always been figurines.

High-quality figurines are always so hard to find, and they almost never look like the original movie characters. That’s why I was thrilled to discover Eaglemoss: Hero Collector, a state-of-the-art company that designs fabulously detailed collectible figurines based directly on the fantastical movies set in the wizarding world. Plus, the fact that Eaglemoss has a license directly with Warner Bros. guarantees that its figurines will be designed using movie stills and images.

The Eaglemoss Wizarding World Figurine Collection features stunning figurines of all your favorite characters from the Harry Potter series and the Fantastic Beasts series. At 1:16 scale, each figurine is crafted with you, the fan, in mind, paying special attention to capturing the details and personalities of the magical characters we all know and love from the wizarding world movies. The character figurines are so well designed that each one is carefully measured to the 1:16 scale to ensure that the characters stand equal in height to one another. Every figurine you receive from Eaglemoss you can expect to be beautifully hand-painted and designed by fans with a passion for the wizarding world.

I was sent nine amazing figurines: Lord Voldemort, Professor Albus Dumbledore, Newt Scamander, Tina Goldstein, Queenie Goldstein, Harry Potter, Rubeus Hagrid, a Dementor, and an Occamy!

In addition to the figurines, I also received seven gorgeous wizarding world–themed prints, and you receive one free with every subscription box that is sent out! The prints are made of thick paper, perfect for framing and hanging up in your dormitory or for keeping in Eaglemoss’s art print collector’s box (included in the third shipment of your Eaglemoss subscription).

Each Eaglemoss Hero Collector Wizarding World shipment (with subscription purchase) comes with one of these beautiful art prints.

Each figurine has so much detail, and I was amazed when I first received them. They are painstakingly packed in collectible boxes, so you can be assured that your figurines will be safe and secure during shipping.

I’ll go over Harry’s figurine in detail, and then you can click on each toggle below to see photos and short descriptions of the other characters! Trust me – you’ll love viewing the photos of these striking figurines. I took three to four photos of each figurine so that you can see the stunning detail for yourselves.

After opening Harry’s box, I was thrilled to discover that a surprise is included with each figurine! Each Eaglemoss figurine comes with an information booklet that tells you all about the making of your figurine, features large color photographs of the character or creature, and provides a ton of background information as well! Hermione would be pleased with the amount of information this booklet packs in.

After undoing the safety ties that hold Harry in, I took him out and was immediately shocked by the level of detail. From his hair (and scar!) to his wire-frame glasses, wand, and clothes, this Eaglemoss collectible figurine shows Harry in great detail as he faces off against Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He is very sturdy and heavy in the hand, which is a mark of Eaglemoss’s durable figurines and excellent craftsmanship. Every way I turned Harry, there was always the same attention to detail – some companies skimp on the back sides of the characters, but not Eaglemoss.

Harry stands atop a circular gold platform that features the number of the model and the wizarding world licensing information. Harry is able to stand freely with the help of the platform, and he is securely glued to the base. This way, collectors of all kinds are able to choose how they want to display their figurine: in the box or out in the open. I generally keep my figurines in their boxes, but these Eaglemoss figurines are too lovely to be left in there, so I decided to do like Ron Weasley with his Chudley Cannon figurines and display mine out in the open on a shelf! Below is an example of the identification sticker on the bottom of Tina’s figurine.

Eaglemoss Hero Collector Review: Tina Goldstein

The Tina Goldstein Eaglemoss figurine depicts the ex-Auror as she is on a mission to discover why all the beasts have become loose in New York City. Her flowing gray overcoat is accompanied by her low-cut white blouse, black slacks, and black hat. She is also wonderfully created to feature a walking stance. Tina’s wand hangs at her side, ready to Stun (or Obliviate) any No-Maj or wizard who gets in her way and could prevent her from completing her duty to MACUSA.

Eaglemoss Hero Collector Review: Queenie Goldstein

The Queenie Goldstein Eaglemoss figurine is daintily crafted to capture Queenie’s most recognizable pose. She holds her wand at arm’s length, possibly cooking herself and her friends a meal or slipping into her pink overcoat. Her stunning red hair is styled in a bob and curled just like Queenie’s from the Fantastic Beasts movies. The Queenie Eaglemoss figurine even has Queenie standing with one foot pointed, as she often does in the films. Queenie (and her sister, Tina) will be excellent additions to your Eaglemoss Collection.

Eaglemoss Hero Collector Review: Newt Scamander

The Newt Scamander Eaglemoss figurine catches Newt in his frequent running pose. He holds his wand out in front of himself as well as his case full of magical creatures to the side. Hufflepuffs will love Newt’s black-and-yellow House scarf. Fans of Fantastic Beasts will notice how detailed and perfect Newt’s navy coat, brown waistcoat, necktie, and shoes are. This Newt Eaglemoss collectible looks so lifelike, a testament to the Eaglemoss designers’ abilities.

Eaglemoss Hero Collector Review: Dementor

The Dementor Eaglemoss figurine is wonderfully spooky and really captures the essence of a Dementor perfectly. It stands a little taller than the other figurines on a clear stand that makes it look like it’s actually floating. From the cape fluttering in the breeze to its gnarled, outstretched hands, it's a gorgeous figurine you'll want to keep displayed, and it's so lifelike that you'll debate whether or not to cast a Patronus Charm on it!

Eaglemoss Hero Collector Review: Professor Dumbledore

The Professor Dumbledore Eaglemoss figurine lovingly portrays Sir Michael Gambon’s Dumbledore in an authoritative yet friendly posture behind his golden owl lectern. Fans of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will remember this signature pose as the moment when Dumbledore welcomes the students at the start-of-term feast, introduces Remus Lupin as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and delivers one of his most famous quotes. This Eaglemoss figurine is beautifully done and is one of my very favorites. The designers took special care to capture Gambon’s features to the letter, Dumbledore’s periwinkle-blue robes, and the gorgeous owl lectern. You will not be disappointed by this Eaglemoss figurine.

Eaglemoss Hero Collector Review: Lord Voldemort

The Lord Voldemort Eaglemoss figurine is sculpted in Voldemort’s signature fighting stance during the Battle of Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Voldemort’s extended hand grasps the Elder Wand as he fights to regain control of the battle. The Eaglemoss figurine captures Voldemort during a moment of rage, with his black cloak whipping forcefully behind him. This stunningly detailed Voldemort is a perfect addition to your Eaglemoss collection.

Eaglemoss Hero Collector Review: Occamy

The Occamy Eaglemoss figurine features one of the most beautiful creatures from Newt’s case in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Occamy is resplendent in shimmering scales of all different shades of blue and purple. Its tail is curled up, with the Occamy ready to dive into the teapot and shrink down to its usual size. The Occamy’s magnificent outstretched wings are so detailed, you can see the individual feathers. The Occamy Eaglemoss figurine is quite possibly my favorite one, just because of its beautiful design and the fact that it is simply stunning to look at. I would very highly recommend the Occamy figurine.

Eaglemoss Hero Collector Review: Rubeus Hagrid

The Rubeus Hagrid Eaglemoss figurine embodies Hagrid’s lovable and kind-natured demeanor. Dressed in his customary dragon-hide tunic, forest-green shirt, and tough leather pants, Hagrid is prepared to teach the Hogwarts students about all sorts of creatures and beasts. Hagrid’s full beard and hair and impeccably detailed face remain very true to the movies.
