Reserve Your “Pokémon GO” Username for “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite”
If you’re a Pokémon GO or Ingress player, you might have received an email with a little tidbit about Harry Potter: Wizards Unite yesterday.
Since Harry Potter: Wizards Unite was announced, fans have been eagerly awaiting its release. We’ve recently been given more trailers and snippets of gameplay to hype us up for the moment we can join the Statute of Secrecy Task Force and contain the Calamity. Although no set release date has been revealed yet, Niantic announced a cool new feature on its website to tide us over.
If you’re attached to your Ingress Agent Name or Pokémon GO Trainer Nickname, we’ve got good news: For a limited time, you can reserve your code name so that you are able to use it in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. If you’re interested, the steps are simple:
- Go to https://nianticlabs.com/hpwu-codenamereservation.
- Click on “Use my Pokémon GO Trainer Nickname.” You’ll be asked to log in to your Pokémon GO account using Facebook, Google, or Niantic Kids. If you have a Pokémon GO Trainer Club account, you can link to your Facebook or Google account in order to reserve your Code Name for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
If you’re an Ingress player, reserving your Code Name works the same way, and if you have the same username for Pokémon GO, you would only have to register once. If you’d like to reserve your username, the deadline to do so is April 30 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
