#EndersbysHeroes Brings Magic into the Lives of Special Needs Children
Special needs children often require lots of patience to be able to take one photo, let alone an entire photoshoot. In addition to the struggles, the families of special needs children tend not to get family photos taken because of the expense. Six years ago, photographers Scott and Nicole Endersby set out to rectify this problem.
The Endersbys began photographing special needs children and their families to raise autism awareness. As parents of two special needs boys, they definitely understand the struggle.
Scott and Nicole are not your everyday photographers – they go above and beyond with their photoshoots, including a very magical Harry Potter-themed shoot. Pictured below are Ethan, who is special needs, and Lucy, the children of Beth. Beth saw the value in the Endersbys’ project, called #EndersbysHeroes.
There was no communication hurdle for my son to have to jump or uncomfortable social setting that he couldn’t sit through. They were just invited to have fun and we let the photographer do the hard work.
[…]This moment that he captured, this flight that they were given, this was the gift of a true wizard.
While Endersby does other themed photo shoots, including various superheroes, Harry Potter was a very special choice for Beth’s children.
‘Harry Potter’ is a magical escape with great friendships, amazing creatures, life lessons, and comedy. The friends support each other, despite their quirks. That’s an inspiring message.
