First Look at Tom Felton in New Trailer for “Ophelia”
Ever since it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018, we have been waiting for the first look at Tom Felton in Ophelia, a reimagining of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
Starring alongside Daisy Ridley (Ophelia) and George MacKay (Hamlet), Felton takes on the role of Ophelia’s brother, Laertes, in his first foray into Shakespeare on the big screen. Set in the 14th century, Ophelia tells the well-known story of Hamlet through the eyes of his lover and potential wife, in what Felton has called a “completely fresh perspective.”
Although Felton appears only briefly in the trailer, telling Ophelia, “These are strange times in this castle, be afraid,” fans of Shakespeare’s work will know the crucial role Laertes plays in Hamlet. Check out the action-packed trailer below.
With Ophelia set to be released in theaters on June 28, and on demand on July 3, audiences won’t have long to wait to see Felton in action.
