Hilarious Magical Comedy “Puffs” Set to Close in Sydney
Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is in the last few weeks of its second Australian run.
The comedy play, which has been entertaining Sydney audiences since May 17, will close the doors to its custom-built pop-up venue in the Entertainment Quarter on June 30. With a fully immersive theater foyer, preshow photo opportunities, a bespoke “Wizard Bar,” and of course, hilarious onstage antics, fans will be sad to see the show leave Sydney.
If you haven’t managed to see Puffs yet, don’t panic! There’s still a chance to catch this magical play about the years a certain boy wizard went to school as told by those “who just happened to be there too.”
Evening performances of Puffs are best suited for older witches and wizards, but there are four matinee performances left in the play’s run, which have been tweaked to suit younger audiences. Tickets for the remaining few shows, including a family ticket priced at $99 AUD, can be purchased here.
But never fear – all is not over for this magical play. As well as continuing its New York City performances, a new production of Puffs is getting ready to open in the United States.
Thanks to the hard work of Artistic Synergy of Baltimore, the show will be adding another US location. For one weekend in July, Puffs will take to the stage in Baltimore at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. These four performances on Friday, July 12 (8 p.m.), Saturday, July 13 (3 p.m. and 8 p.m.), and Sunday, July 14 (3 p.m.) will also continue the tradition of children-friendly matinees.
