Emma Watson Launches Workplace Harassment Helpline for Women
Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) has been an outspoken supporter of women’s rights and the Time’s Up movement against sexual harassment in the workplace. Now, Emma has partnered with the Time’s Up UK Justice and Equality Fund, Rosa, and Rights of Women to launch a new helpline for women who have been sexually harassed at work in England and Wales.
The Independent reported on Watson’s financial support for the helpline and provided a quote from the actress on the importance of providing such a service.
Understanding what your rights are, how you can assert them, and the choices you have if you’ve experienced harassment is such a vital part of creating safe workplaces for everyone, and this advice line is such a huge development in ensuring that all women are supported, wherever we work.
The Rights of Women website describes the services that the new helpline provides.
We give employment legal advice to women in England and Wales experiencing sexual harassment at work, including:
- Identifying sexual harassment
- How to bring a complaint against your employer
- The Employment Tribunal procedure
- Settlement Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements
The sexual harassment at work law helpline launched on August 5, and it is available to women in England and Wales at 020 7490 0152. The hours listing for the helpline is not currently complete; however, it will not be open on bank holidays.
Rights of Women also offers advice lines on family law, criminal law, and immigration law. For more information on the services Rights of Women provides, you can visit the organization’s website.
