The Votes Are In: Here’s How Wizarding World Fared at Teen Choice Awards 2019
The Teen Choice Awards 2019 took place last night on FOX, and the results of the votes are in!
Of course, we’re always hoping for the Wizarding World family to come out on top, but all the winners and nominees are fantastic.
So here’s how the Wizarding World cast, past and present. fared in last night’s categories:
First up, Hero Fiennes Tiffin (young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) took the top spot in the Choice Drama Movie Actor category for his role in After! His costar, Josephine Langford, won in the equivalent category for women, Choice Drama Movie Actress, while the movie itself also won in the Choice Drama Movie category.
Captain Marvel, featuring Jude Law (young Albus Dumbledore) and Gemma Chan (Madam Ya Zhou); Men in Black: International, starring Dame Emma Thompson (Sybill Trelawney); and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, featuring Zoë Kravitz (Leta Lestrange), were all up for Choice Action Movie, but Avengers: Endgame won overall.
Dame Emma Thompson’s Late Night was nominated in the Choice Summer Movie category. It was, however, beaten by Spider-Man: Far from Home.
Crazy Rich Asians, which also featured Gemma Chan, won overall for Choice Comedy Movie.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was up for Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie. It was nominated along with Mary Poppins Returns, featuring Dame Julie Walters (Molly Weasley). Aladdin took the top spot in this category.
Also nominated for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein) for Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie Actress, but she was just edged out by Naomi Scott from Aladdin.
Both Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore), for his role in Captain Marvel, and Johnny Depp (Gellert Grindelwald) were nominated for Choice Movie Villain, but both were beat out by Josh Brolin from Avengers: Endgame.
Last, but certainly not least, Daniel Radcliffe was nominated for his role in Miracle Workers in the Choice Comedy TV Actor category, but he was taken down by Jaime Camil from Jane the Virgin (we suspect Nargles got in the voters’ heads on this one).
Overall, it was a wishy-washy night for the past and present Wizarding World cast members. We can’t wait to see who comes out on top in next year’s Teen Choice Awards!
