Signature “Harry Potter” Glasses and Signed Books Up for Auction
Who hasn’t sported a pair of round plastic frames to emulate the Boy Who Lived? It’s a signature look that many Harry Potter fans have worn for book releases, movie premieres, and other events. But can you imagine wearing the actual glasses Daniel Radcliffe wore to film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone? That’s next level! But the boy wizard’s glasses could be yours – if you have $20,000 to $30,000 to spare.
Later this month, the Icons & Legends of Hollywood Auction is going to sell hundreds of props, costumes, autographed items, and other artifacts from movie history. The lots include items from films like The Wizard of Oz, Titanic, Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, and Citizen Kane.
From the world of Harry Potter, there are three items up for sale: a Bloomsbury first edition of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix signed by J.K. Rowling, a Bloomsbury first edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire signed by many members of the film cast, and the iconic glasses young Daniel Radcliffe wore in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The signed books are expected to go for between $1,000 and $3,000. While the books are certainly special, they are by no means the only signed Harry Potter books out in the world. The glasses, on the other hand, are unique and are expected to fetch ten times as much as either of the books.
