Story Behind Keys and Curios Cover Revealed by Wizarding World Digital
If you have heard about or have already preordered Wizarding World Gold, then you likely have seen the new Keys and Curios journal. Each cover is customized to the colors of your Hogwarts House – but there is much more to the cover than just that. The artwork by MinaLima is explained in the latest article from Wizarding World Digital.
Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima have designed artwork for everything from the Harry Potter films to the Fantastic Beasts screenplays. They are no strangers to designing book covers, for sure. Here is what MinaLima said when asked about how it felt to work on this new book.
Whenever we’re invited to do anything for the Wizarding World, it always feels like we’ve come home.
The cover art for the Keys and Curios journal clearly has an astronomical theme. If you haven’t noticed yet, there is even a slight nod to the Time-Turner. MinaLima explains a bit more about this particular inspiration.
There’s this theme of time. [The journal] is capturing a year of your personal life. And it might be something you look on later. So I think the element of time was important, rather than just being ‘a book’. So the little cheeky nod to putting in the text from the Time-Turner will hopefully resonate with people.
A Wizarding World Gold membership will soon come with a 10% online discount to MinaLima’s shop, excluding non-mass produced products.
