David Tennant and Dame Julie Walters Named Among Hardest-Working British Actors
David Tennant (Barty Crouch, Jr.) and Dame Julie Walters (Molly Weasley) have been named among the hardest-working British actors, according to a study by streaming service BritBox. BritBox, created by the BBC and ITV, launched in the United Kingdom last week, the Daily Mail writes.
The BritBox study analyzed 100 British film and television stars who have won or been nominated for either a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award or a National Television Award in the last decade. Moreover, the study “looked at factors such as versatility and number of appearances.”
Tennant was named the hardest-working British actor, according to the study. Walters ranked fifth.
Jessica Jones star Tennant topped the list, closely followed by former Men Behaving Badly star Martin Clunes, Sir David Jason, [Olivia] Colman and then Dame Julie Walters.
Oscar-winner [sic] Ms Colman [has] the lead role in popular drama The Crown and has also featured in irreverent comedy Peep Show.
The rest of the top 10 are Sir Derek Jacobi, Dame Judi Dench, James Nesbitt, Steve Coogan and Sean Bean.
Reemah Sakaan, Group Launch Director for BritBox, was also quoted by the Daily Mail:
This list highlights a small selection of the top talent in the UK, and we’re excited that our fans can enjoy many of the actors’ much-loved classics and more recent work on the service.
