Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Wins Themed Entertainment Association Award

Well, it’s official! Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, the spellbinding coaster that has enraptured thousands of visitors at Universal Orlando Resort, is considered one of the best roller coasters in the world. In fact, it has recently won a Themed Entertainment Association Award.

The ride won the Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Attraction category.

 

The awards were handed out during the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, on November 19. During the awards ceremony, awards were handed out to the top rides, lands, parks, water parks, and entertainment centers from all around the world.

If you haven’t had a chance to ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, it is a themed roller coaster located in the Hogsmeade section of Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure (suitable for those 48″ or taller) featuring everyone’s favorite half-giant and some of his favorite creatures from the wizarding world.

 

 

Riders get up close and personal with a fiery Blast-Ended Skrewt, some deadly Devil’s Snare, and even a few mysterious centaurs all while zooming around on Hagrid’s enchanted blue motorbike and sidecar.

The ride includes a stomach-wrenching drop and not only launches forward but also contains a speedy reverse launch near the end. Hagrid’s booming and iconic voice follows riders along the track and even helps get them out of a few sticky situations. This ride is innovative and brings a whole new level of fun and magic to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
